Islamic Courses

Our courses are designed to foster a spiritual and intellectual growth and provide an in-depth study of the Islamic way of life, drawn from the correct interpretations of the Quran and Hadith. Students are taught to master the Arabic language in order to fully understand the intricacies of the Quran and Hadith. Our courses involve the study of numerous texts which cover all aspects of Islam, including a detailed study of grammar, jurisprudence and Tajweed.

Bahr Academy also offers an abridged two-year version of the seven-year Alimiyyah course. This includes: Tajweed, Qur’anic commentary, Ahaadith, everyday Masaa’il, Aqaa’id and basic Arabic. This course is delivered in the English medium.

Bahr Academy has a unique curriculum structured for various courses and programmes.

The Alimiyyah Programme is an undergraduate level programme in Islamic Law and Islamic Theology. The programme is an in depth study of subjects such as Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and its principles. It also includes an advanced study of classical Arabic and courses on history, leadership, politics, and philosophy.

This curriculum has already produced graduates of the highest calibre whose work is already benefiting the community in different capacities. It is our firm belief that Bahr Academy and its academic system and curriculum are the future for Islamic education and the producing of competent Ulama, Imams and leaders of the future.

Students must commit to Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. This is a full time 6 year programme. The academic year runs from September to July each year.
